ABOUT

LILLIN Karin

Lillin (he/they) began tattooing in 2009, and has been working as a tattooer full time for over 10 years. Since 2020 he has co-owned Estuary - a warm, dynamic, and well-respected private studio in Brooklyn.

Lillin’s illustrative world is inspired by pulpy '70s-'80s horror cinema, shōjo manga, the uncanny cusp between science fiction and reality, and the inherent transness of nature.

A well-versed practitioner, he works in a range of illustrative styles with a focus on dark fantasy, biomorphic sci-fi horror, feral animals, alien angels, and whimsical botanic motif. Lillin also specializes in challenging or transformative cover-ups.

Outside of tattooing he is a dedicated reader of sci-fi, fantasy, & queer theory, dances ballet, is an active participant in community activism in nyc, has a beautiful black cat, and really enjoys a good pastry.
