REACH OUT

Please feel free to email with any questions you may have. I book only through the form linked under BOOKING, and answers to many common questions are listed at Lillin-Karin.com/faq

I do my best to respond to emails ASAP, but as I am just one person responses can sometimes take some time depending on my current workload. Your patience is deeply appreciated and I look forward to helping!

Before your appointment:

  • Get a full night's sleep and stay hydrated.

  • Eat a full meal within an hour or two of coming in - you want your blood sugar full & high!

  • Remember to check my accessibility page if you suspect you might need or appreciate accommodations. Then email me to make a plan.

  • Check the studio entry directions - you can find them below.

  • Please try to arrive to the studio no more than 10 minutes early - I’m generally ready right at your appointment time.

  • If you need to reschedule, please email me ASAP!

    • Rescheduling within 5 days of your appointment time will result in forfeiture of deposit & require a new/second deposit to re-book.

    • Rescheduling two or more times will result in forfeiture of deposit & require a new/second deposit to re-book.

Things to bring:

  • Water or juice, gatorade, a snack, etc.

  • Your photo ID.

  • You are welcome to bring a book, video game, headphones, any comfort items, etc. if you would rather have a distraction!

  • Payment :

    • Cash is strongly preferred when possible.

    • Card payments incur a 7.5% fee (NYC’s 4.5% sales tax on tattoo services + square’s 3% digital processing fee)

    • Venmo payments incur a 6.5% fee (NYC’s 4.5% sales tax on tattoo services + venmo’s 2% digital processing fee)

  • A mask, if you prefer.

    • We no longer require universal masking in the studio, but encourage clients and tattooers to do what is most comfortable for your needs.

    • If you would prefer a masked appointment, please let me know before your appointment time! We are completely happy and prepared to mask as a studio when asked.

    • We have some kn95 masks available at the front counter for suggested $1 donation for anyone who wants or needs one.

  • Comfortable, loose fitting, stretchy clothes that lets us easily access the area you're getting tattooed in.

    • Feel free to bring along a bathing suit top / bottom, tank top, bike shorts, etc. to change into.

    • If we are working anywhere on your torso, please avoid wearing a sports bra or other tight elastic garment, as they can pull and distort your skin, resulting in a distorted stencil & tattoo! A soft cotton cami or bralette is a better choice.

    • If your back needs to be exposed, an easy option is to wear a flannel or sweater backwards.

    • We also have disposable pasties available at the shop if needed.

    • If you are unsure what to wear - please feel free to ask me for advice! I’m happy to give suggestions.

  • Ideally wear something black - tattooing can sometimes be messy and I hate to stain clothes by accident!

  • Bring some layers so you can warm up or cool off to your comfort level.

  • Regardless of tattoo placement, if you would like a privacy screen set up around my station for any reason, just let me know.

    Getting here:

  • Estuary is a private studio located in Bushwick, off the Morgan L stop. The specific address is shared by email 10 days prior to your appointment.

  • We ask that clients come alone to reduce traffic in the studio. There are plenty of local coffee shops, cafes, parks, and boutiques nearby for guests to spend time while you are getting tattooed.

  • If you are planning to drive to your appointment, please leave an extra 15-20 minutes to find parking. We are located in a busy industrial neighborhood and parking is possible but often requires circling around cross streets. To find parking, follow street signs and make sure you’re not parking in a no-parking zone (red signs).
